One of our team members, Lily, wanted to share something special about her dad this Father's Day. Her story beautifully captures what it means to have a father who lives his faith authentically.
This Father's Day, I want to honour my dad for the way he has shaped my life and faith.
Dad, you have been a living example of integrity and trust in God. I grew up with a front row seat to your words, your deeds, and your godly life. You did what you said you would do. You trusted God even when life was hard. You gave generously to others even when your own finances were stretched.
A Lesson in Trust
I remember when I was in high school and you were very sick. We went overseas for treatment, and relatives and church friends gave financial support for the trip and medical bills. When you came home, you gave tithe to the church.
People who knew this were shocked and asked why you would give when you needed the money yourself. But you responded simply, "This belongs to God, I am just returning it back to Him."
That moment showed me where your trust truly rests.
A Lesson in Grace
I also remember when your brother's daughter had animosity toward you and Mum because of a misunderstanding. Instead of retaliating, you both chose to show grace. In time, the relationship was restored, and when she got married, you even hosted a wedding reception party for her.
That day, I saw what forgiveness and reconciliation look like in action.
The Everyday Lessons
Through these and many other examples, you taught me that a godly life means showing up, taking ownership, and being faithful to do your best no matter the circumstances. You taught me that real success is not found in one-time achievements, but in consistency with everyday faithfulness.
And you showed me that true richness is not measured by financial capacity, but by the capacity of the heart.
A Living Legacy
Dad, through the way you live, you are passing on a legacy of faith that will bless our family for years to come.
And as Psalm 37:4 says, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart." My prayer is that as you continue to delight in Him, God will grant you the desires of your heart—strength, health, and the joy of seeing the next generations walk in His ways.
Lily's story reminds us that the most powerful lessons aren't taught through words alone, but through a life lived faithfully. Her father's example shows us what it means to trust God completely, extend grace generously, and live with unwavering integrity.
We're grateful to Lily for sharing this beautiful tribute to her dad. It's a reminder that Father's Day is about celebrating the men who shape our hearts and faith through their everyday faithfulness.
